Sometimes it’s all in the detail, and many of our most challenging projects have required us to write complicated technical copy that retains all its authority for a specialist audience, while being accessible to everyone. That means immersing ourselves in different worlds, some of which we are not familiar with at all at the beginning, and learning quickly how to write about it as experts. We have worked on corporate brochures for several companies, including terrorism risk underwriter Pool Re and oil company Puma Energy.
One of our biggest projects of this kind was a detailed 200+ page product catalogue we wrote for Baker Hughes covering their subsea oil production systems. Although it was later adapted for online use, the first edition of this catalogue was a prestigious hardcover slipcase book – detailed enough for specialist industry engineers, but not out of place in a corporate boardroom.
